The Joubert Singers is a SATB community choir. We began in 1994, and since then have evolved into a vocal ensemble attracting singers and audiences from Sydney and beyond, to experience the joy of sharing great music from around the world, and across the centuries.
While focusing on music by the great choral composers such as Mozart, the Haydn brothers, Vivaldi and Bach, the choir also celebrates its local heritage with French choral works, including by Poulenc, Fauré and Charpentier, and from the mediaeval era to the 21st century. The Joubert Singers are very proud to support Australian composers and commission work regularly.
Our Conductor, Erzsi Marosszeky, is an internationally trained musician who works as a choral conductor, pianist, ensemble and vocal coach. Erzsi has worked with the Joubert Singers as Artistic Director and Conductor since 2019.
We usually present three concerts each year.
Rehearsals are held mostly at the Villa Maria church hall, 3a Mary St Hunters Hill. Rehearsals on Tuesday nights begin at 7:30 and end at 9:45.
