On Thursday nights in Camberwell, the Yarra Gospel Community Choir sing inspiring arrangements of traditional gospel songs and spirituals, then enjoy a wine and cheese supper together. Throughout the year the choir performs in a variety of venues in Melbourne, including the Surrey Hills Music Festival, Gospelfest in Armadale and at the carol service for St Thomas’, Burwood. Yarra Gospel also enjoys performing in regional cities including Geelong, Ballarat and Shepparton. Before Covid hit, the choir had sell-out concerts featuring the gospel songs recorded by Elvis Presley and then Aretha Franklin. The Franklin concert raised $2,500 to help build toilets so teenage girls in India could stay at school.
There are NO auditions, and recorded parts are on our APP which is helpful if you can't read music or haven't sung since you left school! We'd love you to come and join us.
