We are a Sydney-based chamber choir pursuing excellent performance of great choral music. The choir was formed in the early 1990s by singers from a number of larger choirs wishing to explore the acapella repertoire, particularly in the area of sacred choral music.
The choir stages a number of concerts each year in some of Sydney’s finest venues. We have participated in festivals around Sydney including the Glebe Music Festival, and our programs have ranged from larger scale works such as the Faure Requiem to Renaissance motets and music by contemporary composers from many traditions. We have increasingly sought out works by established and emerging women composers. We rehearse at St Benedict’s on Broadway, and are pleased to sing at their services twice each year.
Margaret Tesch-Muller has been our inspiring Musical Director since 2019. Margaret is an internationally-performed composer, conductor and soprano.
Coro innominata will celebrate our last performance with Margaret as musical director on 1 December 2024, with our third season of our Women Composers Development Program.
Coro Innominata is recruiting for a new Musical Director to start in 2025. Please see this page for application details: https://www.innominata.org/musical-director/position-vacant-musical-dir…
