About WHC We are a group of women who get a buzz out of singing, and are dedicated to producing the ringing chords of 4-part a cappella harmony - having a great time along the way! The Chorus is based in Wollongong, a beautiful coastal city at the foot of the spectacular escarpment 80km south of Sydney, Australia. The group had its beginnings in March 1990, after a small group of 18 women were inspired by a performance of the visiting Sydney Town Chorus. This group of women has now grown in number to a vibrant chorus of over 60 members and growing by the week. Our members, whose ages span 20 to 83 years, come from all walks of life. One thing we have in common though: we love to perform and when we do, the synergy is fantastic. Our repertoire spans a wide and varied range, from Ain't Misbehavin and All That Jazz to more contemporary hits like It's Rainin' Men, as well as songs with a distinctly Australian flavour - My Country, I am Australian, Click Go The Shears. All songs are arranged in the distinctive barbershop 4-part harmony style. Our performances are versatile, and bookings may be arranged for events on any scale, from large concert or open air productions through to intimate events requiring only a small group of singers, or maybe a quartet.
