This is a refined, expressive program spanning centuries of choral artistry, with works from across the musical genres. Pergolesi’s’ Stabat Mater’ for soprano and alto voices brings Baroque poignancy and luminous beauty and is accompanied by string quartet and harpsichord for this performance. In the second half of the concert, we present Mendelssohn’s Three Motets (1839) which offer warm Romantic devotion, followed by a vibrant selection of Gershwin songs adds irresistible swing.
